THE SOUTH ISLAND
During the middle of our 3-week vacation in New Zealand, Genelle and I flew from Auckland to Queenstown in the South Island. We stayed in the South Island for a week. Our friends from Auckland stayed home to get some work done, so we rented a car and were on our own for a while. We used Queenstown as a base camp for a few days, then drove to Te Anau and used that as a base camp for a few more days.
